Ingredients

  • 1 lb. raw shrimp
  • 2 c. all purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1 tsp. ground coriander
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • ½ G vegetable oil
  • Mayonnaise
  • Spicy brown mustard
  • Lettuce
  • Tomatoes, thinly sliced

Preparation

Step 1

MIX flour & spices.

Step 2

DIVIDE ⅓ of mixture into a second bowl and set aside.

Step 3

POUR buttermilk into another bowl.

Step 4

PEEL and devein shrimp. Give them a good rinse.

Step 5

SPRINKLE shrimp with salt and 1 tsp. of red pepper.

Step 6

FILL a deep fryer with oil and heat it up to 350°F.

Step 7

DREDGE 5-10 pieces of shrimp in the second bowl of flour mix.

Step 8

DROP shrimp into the bowl of buttermilk.

Step 9

DREDGE shrimp in the first bowl of flour and spices.

Step 10

DROP into the hot oil and fry for 30 seconds to 1 minute until crispy.

Step 11

PULL the shrimp out of the fry oil and rest on paper towels.

Step 12

COOK the hot dogs using preferred method.

Step 13

SPREAD buns with mayonnaise and brown mustard.

Step 14

LINE with lettuce and thin slices of tomato.

Step 15

ADD hot dogs and top with 4-5 pieces of fried shrimp.
